I am trying to get an old imac to work, But the screen is not coming on. =Is there a way of starting it to get the screen on? Not sure what system this is. It's over 10 years old. Not going to use it for the web.
You've posted in the iBook Discussions, but say you have an iMac.

Have you tried resetting the PMU?

In most cases the cable connection between the logicboard and the display which runs through the hinges is broken.
You can still use your computer connected to an external display.
I finally figured out how to get the screen on, bc I had a similar problem with my old screen & someone told me to re-seat the Graphics card, by holding down the shift key when booting.
Got the screen on. 😉
